Event details and schedule
For Satellite Navigation Systems please enter the postcode SY3 7BA, but please enter in the via postcode of SY3 7AA to ensure that your route avoids the town centre.
Please park along Ashton Road if possible or surrounding roads free of charge, however, this is a residential area so please be considerate when parking and keep entrances clear at all times. You are not permitted to park on School premises at any time. Should you need a parking space close to the school please contact us in advance at email@example.com.
Registration will take place in the sports hall to the right of the main entrance into the swimming pool facility and will commence at 8.30am and close at 9.30am for the Adult & Youth Event.
Junior registration (Tristart) will commence at 11am and close at 12.30pm (or when everyone has registered). Please allow yourself plenty of time to register as registration will close promptly at the designated times above and those who do not register during these times will not be allowed to compete.
You will need to bring with you:
- Swimming costume, trunks or tri suit.
- Swimming Hat.
- Running shoes.
- T-shirt suitable for run and to pin your number to (if not wearing a tri suit).
- Towel (2 if you require one for transition).
- Race belt or Safety pins (x4) for race number.

The majestic town of Shrewsbury hosts The 2019 ‘JT Hughes Goup’ Shrewsbury Sprint Triathlon & Quadrathlon. Now in its 7th year, it has adapted to your needs and will be hoping to include family events as well. SYTri (Shrewsbury Triathlon Club) stage the event which provides a unique 500M (downstream-wetsuit required) river swim, followed by a fast 23K undulating bike course on country roads. Finishing with a 5K flat & fast traffic free run inside the showground (your supporters are never far away) on mixed surface paths. Excellent race for both beginners and experienced athletes looking for a PB!
The Quadrathlon includes a total 4.5km downstream and back paddle, following the swim and before the cycle leg. The quadrathlon event is now fully booked, but as a World Cup race this year, a few spaces are being kept open for any overseas competitors. Saturday 1st of October
- Club members only.
- 3 club members per team.
- Mixed teams picked at random.
- Each athlete must Swim , Bike & Run.
- Max 10 teams for the event.
300m (wetsuit compulsory). Clockwise course with the first member having a deep-water start. Every member after this will complete the full 300m with a walk in start and finish.
6k, which is an anti clockwise route (all turns where required are left). Please note that at Walford Heath crossroads for safety reasons you will be required to stop and put a foot down onto the road. This location will be marshaled and if you do not comply with this condition you and your team will be disqualified!
1.5k (3 laps of the lake), which is an clockwise off road route of the lake on grass. Please bear in mind that the grass will probably be wet and could be slippy in places.

Junior Duathlon still has a few places remaining, make it a family event
You have chance to enter the water a few minutes before the start to get yourself used to the water temperature. You’re then notified to get your ready for the start, you now tread water waiting for the start when your swim down stream for 500 meters.
