Tracey Hayward

TraceyHayward02My history is endurance running: 50 – 100 miles off-road being pretty much the norm. I cycled non competitively but still managed a fair few miles in the saddle and I visited my local pool very occasionally. So it all changed when in 2011 a friend kindly brought me a wetsuit for my birthday and introduced me to Open Water Swimming. I joined SYTri in 2012 as I wanted more Open Water experience, and just found that the group was so friendly and helpful that it became an easy decision to take up the position of Club Secretary in 2013 which meant I was more involved with the Coaches and realised just what a stirling and rewarding job they did, this encouraged me to become a Level 1 coach myself and I qualified early 2015.

I have completed a full distance triathlon and a handful of half distance events, plus sprints. I really enjoy open water swimming and long distance running will always be my main discipline, however, cycling is not so bad, especially early morning rides and seeing the sun come up.
